Pictures are samples to help you see how your custom bow will be created. The flax bow, also known as a harmony bow is used to bring harmony to a household. The flax is used to be a conduit for blessings to flow down into the lives of those who live in the home. My flax bows are custom made to represent your home and the living being that reside under the roof of your house. Most often willow and wisteria are used for flax bows, but oak is also a sacred tree so i sometimes use oak. The wood stems at the top of the flax bow represent the roof of the home also father sky. The top row of beads is the family. Each being has it's own energy and the beads represent the different energies that live under the roof. The last two pictures of flax/harmony bows are ones i made for clients and are examples of what yours might l;ooh like. The first flax/harmony bow in the pictures is for a family with mother, father, a son, 2 daughter, a dog and there was a request to include the mother's mother who recently passed and the family's baby boy who left this world 7 years ago at 3 weeks old these 2 are the family's "angles". In the first row each individual has a bead reflecting their own energy starting on the left side as is in the cherokee tradition, to the right side representing the father for in cherokee tradition. The middle of the line contains a tibetan silver bead with an angle carved into the front and blue seed beads in the totem color of angle boy. All the other beads are surrounded on both sides by seed beads in the totem color of each individual. The second row hold large gemstone beads that represent the blessing flowing down the flax into the center of the family.
These stones are chosen, as were the individual beads, by spirit during a medicine wheel meditation visioned for the family. It shows the wolf mother, colette on the left (in cherokee tradition the mother is always represented on the left) on the right is paul, colette's husband and the man who is certified to raise and handle wolves, then from right to left each of the pack members are represented in order of age. This bow is larger than the other by about 3 inches across but all of the eliminants are the same. The 3rd flax bows in the pictures were created for a family with 4 cockatiels, a baby boy and the mother and father and one who is a wolf rescue organization with 9 wolves they raise and care for. In the first row the 4 beads on the right are actually toys that belong to the "flying ones" in the home, the small blue bead is for the baby boy, the yellow one is for the mom and the large red on represents the father. The stones in the next row down, represent the blessings that the flax helps to flow down into the home. Amazonite for balance and stability, amethyst to heal the mind, body and spirit, aventurine for good fortune and prosperity, jade for health and longevity, jasper for balance and grounding, rose quartz for forgiveness and universal love, sodalite to help clear guilt and fear, unakite for healing the soul, opening the heart to love and letting go of old hurts. There are many stones (gems and crystals) that can be used for a flax harmony bow, for instance in the shadowland flax bow i used malachite, amethyst, rose, amazonite, goldstone sun sitara, turquoise , chalcedony, sodalite, chrysocholla, fluorite. This and representing each living being in the household with it's own bead makes it necessary to build them as custom items.
