This would have been placed at the entrance or just inside the entrance of a church. Due to its size, this font would have been hung from a wall but would also have had a pillar supporting it from underneath. A rare survivor indeed, this rare holy water font will make a superb historical decorative statement in your home, perfect as a table centrepiece. Dates from the early 19th century, 1810 - 1830.
